Christian Wulff

Christian Wulff, born on June nineteenth, nineteen fifty-nine, is a distinguished retired German politician and lawyer. He is best known for his tenure as the President of Germany from two thousand ten to two thousand twelve, during which he made history as the youngest individual to hold the office at the age of fifty-one.

A member of the Christian Democratic Union (CDU), Wulff previously served as the Minister President of Lower Saxony from two thousand three to two thousand ten. His political career reached a significant milestone when he was elected President in the presidential election held on June thirtieth, two thousand ten, defeating the opposition candidate Joachim Gauck. Although he took office immediately, he was officially sworn in on July second.

Wulff's presidency, however, was marred by controversy. On February seventeenth, two thousand twelve, he resigned amid allegations of corruption linked to his time as Minister President. The situation raised serious concerns about his integrity and led to a potential prosecution.

Despite the challenges he faced, Wulff was acquitted of all corruption charges by the Hanover regional court in two thousand fourteen, allowing him to clear his name and restore his reputation.
