As a commercial astronaut, Sembroski made headlines when he flew to orbit on the Inspiration4 mission, a groundbreaking private spaceflight funded by billionaire Jared Isaacman. His journey into space was made possible through the generosity of his friend Kyle Hippchen, who was unable to accept the prize due to exceeding the weight limit of the Dragon vehicle.
