Chrodegang

Chrodegang, born in the year seven hundred twelve, was a prominent figure in the early medieval church, serving as the Bishop of Metz from either seven hundred forty-two or seven hundred forty-eight until his passing. His tenure as bishop was marked by significant influence and leadership within the Frankish realm.

In addition to his ecclesiastical duties, Chrodegang held the esteemed position of chancellor for his relative, Charles Martel, a key figure in the Frankish dynasty. This role not only underscored his political acumen but also his deep connections within the ruling elite of the time.
