Chungjeong of Goryeo

Chungjeong of Goryeo, born Wang Jeo on January 1, 1337, ascended to the throne at a remarkably young age of twelve. His reign, which lasted from 1348 to 1351, marked a significant period in the history of the Goryeo dynasty, as he became the thirtieth ruler of this illustrious lineage.

Known by his Mongolian name Chosgen Dorji, Chungjeong's rule was characterized by the challenges of governance at such a tender age. Despite the difficulties, he navigated the complexities of leadership during a time when the Goryeo dynasty faced both internal strife and external pressures.

Chungjeong's reign came to an untimely end when he passed away on March 23, 1352, at the young age of fourteen. His brief time on the throne left a lasting impact on the Goryeo dynasty, and he is remembered for his potential as a ruler who never fully realized his capabilities.
