Cigoli

Lodovico Cardi, known as Cigoli, was born on September twenty-second, fifteen fifty-nine, and emerged as a prominent figure in the Italian art scene during the late Mannerist and early Baroque periods. His artistic journey began in Florence, where he honed his skills as a painter, architect, sculptor, draftsperson, and poet, showcasing a remarkable versatility that defined his career.

Throughout his early years, Cigoli's work reflected the intricate styles of the Mannerist movement, characterized by elongated forms and complex compositions. As he transitioned into the Baroque period, his art evolved, embracing a more dynamic and emotional approach that resonated with the changing tastes of the time.

In the latter part of his life, Cigoli relocated to Rome, where he spent the final nine years until his passing on June eighth, sixteen thirteen.
