Claire Elizabeth Cottrill, known to her fans as Clairo, is an American singer-songwriter born on August 18, 1998. She first ventured into music at the tender age of thirteen, sharing her creations online. However, it was her lo-fi single "Pretty Girl" in 2017 that catapulted her into the spotlight, garnering widespread attention through a viral video.
Following her rise to fame, Clairo signed a recording contract with Fader Label, leading to the release of her debut EP, Diary 001, in 2018. This marked the beginning of her professional music career, showcasing her unique sound and lyrical depth.
In 2019, she released her debut studio album, Immunity, which featured popular singles such as "Bags" and "Sofia."
