Clarence Thomas Campbell

Clarence Thomas Campbell, born on December twenty-seventh, eighteen forty-three, was a prominent physician, historian, and politician in Ontario, Canada. He was raised in London, where he received his education before pursuing a medical degree at the Cleveland Western Medical College and the Homeopathic College of Philadelphia. After establishing his medical practice in London in eighteen eighty-six, Campbell quickly became a respected figure in the community.

His political career began with his service on the London city council from nineteen hundred to nineteen hundred three. In nineteen hundred five, he was elected mayor of London, showcasing his commitment to public service. Following his term as mayor, he was appointed inspector of post offices for the London division in nineteen hundred six. Campbell also held significant roles in education and health, serving as chair of the school board and the local board of health.

In addition to his political endeavors, Campbell was deeply involved in the medical community. He was a long-time member of the Medical Council of Ontario, even serving as its president, and was part of the medical staff at the Victoria Hospital. His dedication to history was evident when he became the first president of the London and Middlesex Historical Society in nineteen hundred one, and he later published 'Pioneer Days in London' in nineteen twenty-one.

On a personal note, Campbell experienced the loss of his first wife, Angeline Drake, in eighteen eighty-eight, before marrying Lottie Tyrrell in eighteen ninety-nine. His legacy continues to be felt in London, where he passed away, leaving behind a rich history of service and dedication to his community.
