Clarence Wallace

Clarence Wallace, born on June twenty-second, nineteen ninety-three, in Vancouver, British Columbia, was a prominent Canadian shipbuilder and politician. His early life was marked by a commitment to service, as he bravely fought in World War I, where he sustained injuries at the Battle of Ypres.

Following the war, Wallace took the helm of his father's enterprise, Burrard Dry Dock, where he played a pivotal role in the shipbuilding industry. His leadership was particularly significant during World War II, when he contributed to the war effort by constructing ships essential for naval operations.

In recognition of his contributions, Wallace was appointed a Commander of the Order of the British Empire in nineteen forty-six. His public service continued as he served as the eighteenth Lieutenant Governor of British Columbia from nineteen fifty to nineteen fifty-five, a role that underscored his dedication to the province.

Wallace's accolades included being named a Knight of Grace of the Order of St. John of Jerusalem, reflecting his commitment to both community and country. He spent his later years in Palm Desert, California, where he passed away in nineteen eighty-two.
