Claude Piron

Claude Piron, born on February twenty-six, nineteen thirty-one, was a multifaceted Swiss intellectual known for his contributions as a psychologist, translator, and writer. He was also an ardent Esperantist, dedicating much of his life to the promotion and use of the international language Esperanto.

From nineteen fifty-six to nineteen sixty-one, Piron served as a translator for the United Nations, followed by a role at the World Health Organization. His expertise in translation was complemented by his deep understanding of psychology, which informed his writing and advocacy for Esperanto.

Piron's literary output was extensive, particularly in the realm of Esperanto literature. He began speaking Esperanto in his childhood and utilized the language during his travels across various countries, including Japan, China, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and regions in Africa and Latin America, as well as throughout Europe.

In addition to his work as a translator and psychologist, Piron was also known by the pseudonym Johán Valano. His diverse career reflects a commitment to bridging cultures and fostering communication through language.
