Claudia Antonia

Claudia Antonia, born around AD thirty, was a prominent figure in the Roman imperial family. As the daughter and oldest surviving child of Emperor Claudius and his second wife, Aelia Paetina, she held a unique position within the complex web of Roman aristocracy.

Antonia was not only a great great-niece of Emperor Augustus but also a great-niece of Emperor Tiberius. This lineage placed her in close proximity to the imperial throne, making her a significant player in the political landscape of her time.

Her familial connections extended further, as she was the first cousin of Emperor Caligula and half-sister to Claudia Octavia and Britannicus, the children of Claudius and his third wife, Valeria Messalina. Additionally, she was related to Emperor Nero as a cousin, stepsister, and sister-in-law, intertwining her life with some of the most influential figures in Roman history.
