Claudio Abbado

Claudio Abbado, born on June twenty-six, nineteen thirty-three, was an illustrious Italian conductor whose influence resonated throughout the world of classical music. Renowned for his exceptional artistry, he held prestigious positions such as music director of the La Scala opera house in Milan and principal conductor of the Berlin Philharmonic. His leadership extended to the London Symphony Orchestra and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, where he served as principal guest conductor.

Abbado's remarkable career also included significant roles as music director of the Vienna State Opera and as the founder and director of both the Lucerne Festival Orchestra and the Mahler Chamber Orchestra. His commitment to nurturing young talent was evident in his role as founding artistic director of the Orchestra Mozart and music director of the European Union Youth Orchestra.
