Personal Facts, Age, Height and Biography of Clodoald

Clodoald, also known as Saint Cloud, was born in the year five hundred twenty-four and was a Merovingian prince, the grandson of the renowned Clovis I and the son of Chlodomer. Despite his royal lineage, Clodoald chose a path of humility, renouncing his claim to the throne to embrace a life of solitude as a hermit and monk.

He found solace on a hill along the Seine, located two leagues below Paris, in a place known as Novigentum, which is present-day Saint-Cloud. There, amidst the tranquil surroundings of fishermen and farmers, he dedicated his life to prayer and contemplation.

In his quest for spiritual fulfillment, Clodoald constructed a church, dedicating it to Martin of Tours, a significant figure in the Christian faith. His commitment to a life of piety and service has led to his veneration as a saint in both the Eastern Orthodox Church and the Roman Catholic Church.
