Cody Bellinger

Cody Bellinger, born on July thirteenth, nineteen ninety-five, is an accomplished American professional baseball player who currently plays as an outfielder and first baseman for the New York Yankees in Major League Baseball (MLB). His journey in baseball began at a young age, influenced by his father, Clay Bellinger, a former MLB player. At just eleven years old, Cody showcased his talent by helping his team reach the 2007 Little League World Series.

After honing his skills at Hamilton High School in Chandler, Arizona, Bellinger was selected by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the fourth round of the 2013 MLB draft. He made his major league debut in April 2017, stepping up to support a struggling outfield. Despite a setback due to a hip injury in 2016, he quickly made a name for himself, setting multiple single-season home run records for the Dodgers.

His rookie season was nothing short of spectacular, earning him the National League Rookie of the Year award and a spot in the 2017 MLB All-Star Game. Bellinger continued to shine, being named the MVP of the 2018 National League Championship Series and receiving the prestigious NL MVP, Silver Slugger, and Gold Glove Awards in 2019. He celebrated his first World Series title with the Dodgers in 2020, triumphing over the Tampa Bay Rays.

However, injuries plagued Bellinger in subsequent years, leading to a challenging 2021 season marked by a decline in home runs and batting average. After another difficult year in 2022, he was non-tendered by the Dodgers and signed with the Chicago Cubs.
