His journey in football began in England, where he honed his skills in the youth teams of Queens Park Rangers and Arsenal before signing a professional contract with Bury.

Throughout his career, Kazim-Richards showcased his talent across various leagues, making notable appearances in the Football League with Brighton & Hove Albion and in the Premier League with Sheffield United. His ambition led him to Europe, where he played for prestigious clubs such as Fenerbahçe, Toulouse, Galatasaray, Olympiacos, Bursaspor, Feyenoord, and Fatih Karagümrük. He also returned to the UK to play for Blackburn Rovers, Celtic, and Derby County, while spending four years in Latin America with Coritiba, Corinthians, Lobos BUAP, Veracruz, and Pachuca.
