Connie Mack III

Cornelius Alexander McGillicuddy III, widely known as Connie Mack III, was born on October 29, 1940. He is a prominent American politician and banker, whose political career has left a significant mark on Florida's legislative landscape. Mack served as a member of the United States House of Representatives for Florida's 13th congressional district from nineteen eighty-three to nineteen eighty-nine, before transitioning to the Senate, where he represented Florida from nineteen eighty-nine until two thousand one.

During his tenure in the Senate, Mack held the esteemed position of chairman of the Senate Republican Conference from nineteen ninety-seven to two thousand one. His influence extended beyond his state, as he was considered for the Republican vice-presidential nomination on two occasions—first by Bob Dole in nineteen ninety-six and later by George W. Bush in two thousand.
