Constant Fornerod

Constant Fornerod, born on May thirtieth, eighteen nineteen, was a prominent Swiss politician and lawyer hailing from Avenches. His political career was marked by his election to the Swiss Federal Council on July eleventh, eighteen fifty-five, where he represented the canton of Vaud. Fornerod's tenure in the Federal Council lasted until October thirty-first, eighteen sixty-seven, during which he was affiliated with the Free Democratic Party.

Throughout his time in office, Fornerod held various significant positions within the Swiss government. Fornerod continued to navigate the complexities of military and political affairs, serving in the Military Department from eighteen sixty-four to eighteen sixty-six, and concluding his career in the Political Department as President of the Confederation in eighteen sixty-seven.
