Corina Căprioriu

Corina Căprioriu, born on July eighteenth, nineteen eighty-six, is a distinguished Romanian judoka who has made significant strides in the world of judo. Competing under the name Corina Ștefan since her marriage to wrestler Gheorghiță Ștefan in two thousand sixteen, she has established herself as a formidable athlete in the women's -57 kg weight class.

Her remarkable career includes a silver medal at the two thousand twelve Summer Olympics, where she faced Japan’s Kaori Matsumoto in a gripping final. Unfortunately, Căprioriu was disqualified during the golden score period, but her performance solidified her status as a top competitor.

In addition to her Olympic success, Căprioriu has an impressive record at the World Judo Championships, having secured a bronze medal in the lightweight division in two thousand eleven and reaching the finals again in two thousand fifteen, where she faced Matsumoto once more.
