In two thousand twelve, Breen clinched the Super 2000 WRC title, demonstrating his prowess with class victories in prestigious events such as the Monte Carlo Rally, Wales Rally GB, Rally France, and the Rally of Spain. His journey in rallying began to gain momentum when he won the WRC Academy Cup in two thousand eleven, where he secured his first event victory at the Rallye Deutschland and ultimately sealed the championship at Wales Rally GB. The competition was fierce, culminating in a tie on points with Estonian driver Egon Kaur, but Breen triumphed on count back of stage wins.
