Cristian Zaccardo

Cristian Zaccardo, born on December twenty-first, nineteen eighty-one, is a distinguished former Italian footballer renowned for his defensive prowess. Primarily a centre back, Zaccardo also showcased versatility by playing as a full-back and even in midfield throughout his career.

His professional journey commenced with Bologna in two thousand, where he honed his skills until two thousand four, with a brief loan at Spezia. Zaccardo's career took a significant turn when he joined Palermo, where he gained prominence over four seasons, establishing himself as a key player.

In two thousand eight, he made a move to Germany, signing with VfL Wolfsburg, where he celebrated winning the Bundesliga title in the two thousand eight to two thousand nine season. The following year, he returned to Italy, playing for Parma, and later joined AC Milan in two thousand thirteen. His career continued with a stint at Carpi in two thousand fifteen, followed by a loan to Vicenza during the two thousand sixteen to two thousand seventeen season.

In October two thousand seventeen, Zaccardo ventured abroad to join the Maltese Premier League side Ħamrun Spartans. His journey concluded in January two thousand nineteen when he signed with San Marinese club Tre Fiori, where he achieved victory in the Coppa Titano before announcing his retirement in July.

On the international stage, Zaccardo represented the Italy national team seventeen times between two thousand four and two thousand seven, scoring one goal. He was also a proud member of the Italian squad that triumphed in the two thousand six FIFA World Cup.
