Curtis Scaparrotti

Curtis Scaparrotti, born on March fifth, nineteen fifty-six, is a distinguished retired four-star general of the United States Army. He is best known for his role as the commander of the United States European Command and concurrently as NATO's Supreme Allied Commander Europe. His extensive military career includes serving as the director of the Joint Staff, where he played a pivotal role in shaping military strategy and operations.

Throughout his career, Scaparrotti held several key leadership positions at various levels of the United States military. He commanded the International Security Assistance Force Joint Command and served as the deputy commander of U.S. Forces in Afghanistan. His leadership extended to commanding I Corps and Joint Base Lewis-McChord, as well as the renowned 82nd Airborne Division.

Scaparrotti's operational experience is vast, having commanded forces during significant military operations such as Iraqi Freedom, Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan, Support Hope in Zaire and Rwanda, Joint Endeavour in Bosnia-Herzegovina, and Assured Response in Liberia. His strategic insights were further honed through his roles as director of operations at the United States Central Command and as the sixty-ninth commandant of cadets at the United States Military Academy.

A proud graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point in nineteen seventy-eight, Scaparrotti's military education is extensive. He completed the Infantry Officer Basic and Advanced Courses, the Command and General Staff College, and the United States Army War College. Additionally, he holds a master's degree in Administrative Education from the University of South Carolina, underscoring his commitment to leadership and education in the military.
