Cyle Larin

Cyle Larin, born on April 17, 1995, is a prominent Canadian professional soccer player known for his versatility on the field, playing as both a striker and a left winger. Currently, he is on loan at EFL Championship club Southampton from La Liga's Mallorca, while also representing the Canada national team.

After showcasing his talent in college soccer with the UConn Huskies, Larin made a significant impact in Major League Soccer (MLS) as the first overall pick in the 2015 MLS SuperDraft, joining Orlando City. His rookie season was nothing short of remarkable, as he set a record for the most goals scored by a rookie, netting seventeen goals in twenty-seven matches, which earned him the MLS Rookie of the Year Award.

Following his successful stint in Orlando, where he scored forty-four goals in eighty-nine appearances, Larin transferred to Beşiktaş in January 2018 for an undisclosed fee. His time in Turkey was fruitful, culminating in victories in the Süper Lig, Turkish Cup, and Turkish Super Cup in 2021. Larin's European journey continued with spells at Zulte Waregem and Club Brugge in the Belgian Pro League, as well as Real Valladolid and Mallorca in La Liga.

On the international stage, Larin has been a full international for Canada since 2014. He has represented his country in multiple CONCACAF Gold Cups, reaching the semi-finals in 2021. Notably, he was the top scorer in the CONCACAF section of the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualification, contributing thirteen goals and helping Canada qualify for the World Cup for the first time since 1986.
