Cyril Toumanoff was a distinguished Georgian-American historian and academic genealogist, renowned for his expertise in the history and genealogies of medieval Georgia, Armenia, Iran, and the Byzantine Empire. Born on October thirteenth, nineteen thirteen, in the Russian Empire into a princely family, Toumanoff's early life was dramatically altered by the upheaval of the Russian Revolution.
