Dainis Kūla

Dainis Kūla, born on April 28, 1959, is a distinguished former javelin thrower from Latvia, who made a significant mark in the world of athletics during his career. Representing the Soviet Union for the majority of his professional journey, Kūla became a prominent figure in the sport, showcasing his exceptional talent on international stages.

His most notable achievement came at the 1980 Summer Olympics, where he controversially clinched the gold medal in the men's javelin throw.
