Currently, he plays for Premier League club Newcastle United and represents the England national team, showcasing his skills on both club and international stages.

Burn's football journey began in two thousand nine when he made his debut in the Football League for Darlington, where he made a total of nineteen appearances. His talent caught the eye of Fulham, and he joined the club at the conclusion of the two thousand ten–eleven season.

During his time at Fulham, Burn gained valuable experience through loan spells, including a notable season at Yeovil Town in two thousand twelve, where he made forty-one appearances. He also had a brief loan stint at Birmingham City before moving to Wigan Athletic after his contract with Fulham expired in two thousand sixteen.

In two thousand eighteen, Burn signed with Brighton & Hove Albion, initially being loaned back to Wigan until January of the following year.
