Dan Ireland

Dan Ireland, born on May eleventh, nineteen fifty-eight, is a distinguished American-Canadian film director, producer, and actor. He is best known as a co-founder of the Seattle International Film Festival, a platform that has celebrated independent cinema since its inception.

In the 1980s, Ireland began his career in executive production with Vestron Pictures, where he worked on notable projects including John Huston's final feature, The Dead, released in nineteen eighty-seven. His collaboration with acclaimed director Ken Russell led to the production of several films, such as Salome's Last Dance, The Lair of the White Worm, The Rainbow, and Whore, all of which contributed to his reputation in the film industry.

Transitioning to directing, Ireland made his feature film debut with the drama The Whole Wide World in nineteen ninety-six. He continued to explore diverse narratives with subsequent films like The Velocity of Gary in nineteen ninety-eight and Jolene in two thousand six, showcasing his versatility and passion for storytelling.
