Personal Facts, Age, Height and Biography of Dana Plato

Dana Plato, born on November seventh, nineteen sixty-four, was an American actress who captured the hearts of many as Kimberly Drummond on the beloved sitcom Diff'rent Strokes from nineteen seventy-eight to nineteen eighty-six. This role not only catapulted her to fame but also established her as a teen idol during the late seventies and early eighties.

Raised in the San Fernando Valley, Dana was adopted as an infant by a teen mother. Before embarking on her acting career, she trained in figure skating and made her television debut at the tender age of ten with a brief appearance on The Six Million Dollar Man in nineteen seventy-five. Her early career included roles in the horror film Return to Boggy Creek in nineteen seventy-seven and the Oscar-winning California Suite in nineteen seventy-eight.

Throughout her career, Dana received recognition for her work, including nominations for a Young Artist Award and two TV Land Awards for her role in Diff'rent Strokes. After the show concluded, she continued to work sporadically in independent films and B movies, and even lent her voice to the video game Night Trap in nineteen ninety-two.

Despite her professional successes, Dana faced significant personal challenges, including struggles with substance abuse. She was married twice and welcomed a child in nineteen eighty-four during her marriage to guitarist Lanny Lambert. Her life took a tragic turn when she was arrested in nineteen ninety-one for robbing a video store and again in the following year for forging a drug prescription. On May eighth, nineteen ninety-nine, at the age of thirty-four, Dana was found dead in her motor home from an overdose of prescription drugs, a death that was initially deemed accidental but later ruled a suicide.
