Daniel Kinsey

Daniel Kinsey, born on January twenty-second, nineteen oh two, in St. Louis, was a distinguished American hurdler and a dedicated scholar in the field of physical education. His athletic prowess was showcased when he clinched the gold medal in the 110-Metres Hurdles at the 1924 Summer Olympics held in Paris, marking a significant milestone in his sporting career.

After his Olympic triumph, Kinsey pursued higher education at the University of Illinois, where he studied education and graduated in nineteen twenty-six. His academic journey continued at Oberlin College, where he not only furthered his studies in physical education but also contributed to the institution as a faculty member until nineteen fifty-nine. During his tenure, he was actively involved in coaching various school teams and served on the boards of several committees and associations, including the American Olympians Association.

In nineteen fifty-nine, Kinsey transitioned to a professorship at Earlham College and later at Delta College in University Center, Michigan. He dedicated his life to education and athletics until his retirement in nineteen sixty-seven. Following his retirement, he settled in Richmond, Indiana, where he enjoyed his later years.

Tragically, Kinsey passed away at the age of sixty-eight while on vacation visiting family, shortly after his retirement. His legacy as an athlete and educator continues to inspire many in the realms of sports and education.
