Daniel Majstorović, born on April 5, 1977, is a retired Swedish professional footballer renowned for his role as a centre back. He began his football journey with IF Brommapojkarna in Sweden, where he showcased his potential before making a significant move to Germany's SC Fortuna Köln in 1997. However, after just one year, he returned to Sweden to join Västerås SK, where his impressive performances caught the attention of larger clubs.
His career took a pivotal turn when he signed with Malmö FF, leading to his first major achievement: winning the Allsvenskan in 2004. This success also paved the way for his first international call-up to the Sweden national team in 2003, marking the beginning of a fruitful international career.
In 2004, Majstorović transitioned to the Dutch Eredivisie, joining FC Twente for a transfer fee of eight hundred thousand euros. After a season, he moved to FC Basel in the Swiss Super League for one million three hundred thousand euros, where he enjoyed a remarkable double-winning season in 2007–08, scoring eleven goals and finishing as the club's second top scorer.
His journey continued in 2008 when he signed with AEK Athens on a free transfer. Unfortunately, financial difficulties at the club led to his release in 2010, after which he joined Celtic in the Scottish Premier League. During his time in Scotland, he celebrated victories in the 2010–11 Scottish Cup and the 2011–12 Scottish Premier League.
Majstorović's international career spanned from 2003 to 2013, during which he earned fifty caps and scored two goals for Sweden, including a notable appearance at UEFA Euro 2008.
