Daniel Ortega

Daniel Ortega, born on November eleventh, nineteen forty-five, is a prominent Nicaraguan politician and writer. He first rose to prominence during the Nicaraguan Revolution, which culminated in the overthrow of the US-backed dictator Anastasio Somoza Debayle in nineteen seventy-nine. Ortega became a key figure in the Sandinista National Liberation Front, eventually leading the Junta of National Reconstruction from nineteen seventy-nine to nineteen eighty-five, and serving as president from nineteen eighty-five until nineteen ninety.

After a period out of power, Ortega returned to the presidency in two thousand seven.
