Daniel Petrov, born on September 8, 1971, in Varna, Bulgaria, is a distinguished former boxer and boxing trainer. His illustrious career is marked by remarkable achievements, including a silver medal at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics and a gold medal at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics in the Light Flyweight category.

Petrov's boxing journey began in his hometown of Varna, where he honed his skills before moving to Slavia in Sofia. His dedication and talent led him to become a national champion multiple times, showcasing his prowess in the ring.

In 1993, he captured the European title in Bursa, Turkey, further solidifying his status as a top competitor. His success continued as he claimed the world title at the 1995 World Amateur Boxing Championships held in Berlin, Germany. The following year, he added another European title to his accolades in Vejle, Denmark.
