Daniela Hantuchová

Daniela Hantuchová, born on April 23, 1983, is a celebrated Slovak tennis commentator and a retired professional player. She embarked on her professional journey in 1999, achieving a significant milestone in 2002 when she clinched her first WTA Tour title at the Indian Wells Open. This victory was particularly remarkable as she defeated the renowned Martina Hingis in the final, making history as the lowest-ranked player to win the tournament. That same year, Hantuchová also reached the quarterfinals at both Wimbledon and the US Open, finishing the year ranked among the top ten players in the world.

In January 2003, Hantuchová attained her highest singles ranking of world No. 5, following her impressive performance in the quarterfinals of the Australian Open. Over her career, she secured seven WTA Tour titles, including a second triumph at the Indian Wells Open in 2007 and her final victory at the Thailand Open in 2015. Notably, her best result in a major tournament came in 2008 when she reached the semifinals of the Australian Open. Among her significant career victories are wins against defending champion Serena Williams in the 2006 Australian Open and world No. 1 Caroline Wozniacki in the 2011 French Open.

Hantuchová is also recognized for her accomplishments in doubles, achieving a career-high ranking of world No. 5. In 2005, she completed the career Grand Slam in mixed doubles, becoming only the fifth female player to do so. She has covered prestigious tournaments such as the US Open and Wimbledon for Amazon Prime and has served as a commentator for Fox Sports.
