Daniel Harold Rolling, born on May 26, 1954, is infamously known as the Gainesville Ripper. His heinous acts shocked the nation when he murdered five college students in Gainesville, Florida, over a span of four days in August 1990. This brutal killing spree not only claimed the lives of young individuals but also left a lasting scar on the community.
Rolling's criminal activities extended beyond Gainesville. He confessed to raping several of his victims and was involved in a triple homicide in his hometown of Shreveport, Louisiana. Additionally, he attempted to murder his father in May 1990. In total, Rolling admitted to taking the lives of eight people, showcasing a pattern of violence that was both chilling and calculated.
In 1994, he was sentenced to death for the five murders in Gainesville, a verdict that reflected the severity of his crimes. After spending over a decade on death row, Rolling was executed by lethal injection on October 25, 2006.
