Daphne du Maurier

Daphne du Maurier, born on May thirteenth, nineteen oh seven, was a distinguished English novelist, biographer, and playwright. She hailed from a theatrical lineage, being the daughter of actor-manager Sir Gerald du Maurier and actress Muriel Beaumont. Her grandfather, George du Maurier, was a notable writer and cartoonist, which perhaps influenced Daphne's creative pursuits.

Throughout her illustrious career, du Maurier penned several novels that captivated audiences and were later adapted into successful films. Among her most famous works are 'Rebecca', 'Frenchman's Creek', 'My Cousin Rachel', and 'Jamaica Inn', alongside her haunting short stories such as 'The Birds' and 'Don't Look Now'.
