His journey began in Liberia, where he fled the turmoil of the First Liberian Civil War with his family, eventually finding refuge in Lakewood, Ohio. It was here that Nagbe honed his skills, playing club soccer for the Cleveland Internationals before moving on to collegiate soccer.

At the University of Akron, Nagbe's talent shone brightly as he led his team to an NCAA title and earned the prestigious Hermann Trophy. His professional career took off with the Portland Timbers, where he spent seven seasons and played in over four hundred games. During his time with the Timbers, he celebrated a significant achievement by winning the MLS Cup in two thousand fifteen.

In two thousand seventeen, Nagbe was acquired by Atlanta United FC, where he continued to excel, adding another MLS Cup, a U.S. Open Cup trophy, and the Campeones Cup to his accolades.
