Darrell Issa

Darrell Issa, born on November first, nineteen fifty-three, is a prominent American businessman and politician. He currently serves as the U.S. representative for California's forty-eighth congressional district, having previously represented the fiftieth congressional district from twenty twenty-one to twenty twenty-three. A member of the Republican Party, Issa has had a long and varied career in the United States House of Representatives, serving from two thousand one to two thousand nineteen across two districts in the San Diego area.

Issa's political journey began with his representation of the forty-eighth district for one term, followed by an impressive eight terms in the forty-ninth district. His leadership skills were recognized when he chaired the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee from January two thousand eleven to January two thousand fifteen, where he played a significant role in various legislative matters.

Before his political career, Issa co-founded Directed Electronics in nineteen eighty-two, where he served as CEO. Under his leadership, the company became one of the largest manufacturers of automobile aftermarket security and convenience products in the United States.

In January two thousand eighteen, Issa announced he would not seek reelection, paving the way for Democrat Mike Levin to succeed him. However, he returned to the political arena by running for California's fiftieth congressional district in the twenty twenty election, where he successfully defeated Democrat Ammar Campa-Najjar after placing second in the March primary.

As of March sixth, twenty twenty-six, Issa has announced that he will not seek reelection again, marking another chapter in his extensive political career.
