Darren Bent

Darren Bent, born on February 6, 1984, is an English former professional footballer who made a significant impact as a striker in both the Premier League and Championship. After beginning his career with Godmanchester Rovers, he was scouted by Ipswich Town, where he progressed through the youth system and made his first-team debut in 2001. Over his time at Ipswich, he made 122 appearances and netted 48 goals, showcasing his talent and earning a move to Charlton Athletic in 2005 for a fee of two and a half million pounds.

At Charlton, Bent quickly established himself as a key player, finishing as the club's top goalscorer for two consecutive seasons. His impressive performances caught the attention of Tottenham Hotspur, who signed him in 2007 for a club-record fee of sixteen and a half million pounds. After two seasons with Spurs, he transferred to Sunderland, where he enjoyed a successful eighteen months before moving to Aston Villa in 2011. Throughout his career, Bent also had loan spells with Fulham, Brighton & Hove Albion, and Derby County, eventually joining Derby permanently after being released by Villa in 2015.

On the international stage, Bent represented England at various youth levels, including under-15, under-16, under-19, and under-21, where he made 14 appearances and scored 9 goals. He made his senior debut for the England national team in 2006 against Uruguay, going on to earn 13 caps and score four goals, with his first international goal coming in a UEFA Euro 2012 qualifying match against Switzerland on September 7, 2010.
