Date Masamune

Date Masamune, born on September fifth, fifteen sixty-seven, was a prominent Japanese samurai and daimyō who played a significant role during the Azuchi–Momoyama period and the early Edo period. He was the heir to a long lineage of powerful feudal lords in the Tōhoku region, a legacy that he would carry forward by founding the modern-day city of Sendai.

Renowned for his exceptional tactical skills, Masamune earned the moniker dokuganryū, or the 'One-Eyed Dragon of Ōshū,' due to his distinctive appearance marked by a missing eye. This unique characteristic not only set him apart as a legendary warrior but also contributed to his iconic status in Japanese history.
