Dave East

David Lawrence Brewster Jr., known to the world as Dave East, was born on June 3, 1988. This American rapper, singer-songwriter, and basketball player began his musical journey in 2010. His breakthrough came in 2014 with the release of his eighth mixtape, Black Rose, which garnered significant attention and led to a pivotal moment in his career when he was signed by the legendary New York rapper Nas to Mass Appeal Records.

In 2016, Dave East was recognized as part of XXL's Annual Freshman Class, a testament to his rising star in the hip-hop scene. His tenth mixtape, Kairi Chanel, released in September of that year, peaked at number thirty-eight on the Billboard 200 chart. Following this success, his eleventh mixtape, Paranoia: A True Story, released in 2017, achieved an impressive peak at number nine, solidifying his place in the industry.

East's debut studio album, Survival, released in 2019, reached number eleven on the charts, while his fifteenth mixtape, Karma 3, released in 2020, peaked at number thirty-six. His second studio album, Fortune Favors the Bold, released in 2023, did not chart and marked the end of his tenure with Def Jam.

In addition to his music career, Dave East ventured into acting in 2017, appearing as himself in the series Being Mary Jane and The Breaks. He showcased his acting skills further with a supporting role in the Netflix film Beats in 2019, and his breakthrough role came in the Hulu series Wu-Tang: An American Saga, where he portrayed the iconic Method Man.
