Dave McCormick

Dave McCormick, born on August seventeenth, nineteen sixty-five, is a prominent American politician and businessman currently serving as the junior United States senator from Pennsylvania since two thousand twenty-five. A member of the Republican Party, he previously held the position of chief executive officer at Bridgewater Associates, one of the largest hedge funds globally, from two thousand twenty to two thousand twenty-two.

McCormick's journey began at the United States Military Academy, where he graduated in nineteen eighty-seven. He served with distinction in Iraq during the Gulf War, earning the Bronze Star while serving in the esteemed 82nd Airborne Division. His academic pursuits led him to Princeton University, where he obtained a Ph.D. in nineteen ninety-six.

His career in public service includes several key roles in the George W. Bush administration from two thousand five to two thousand nine, culminating as Under Secretary of the Treasury for International Affairs. After leaving the administration, he became president of Bridgewater Associates, transitioning to co-CEO in two thousand seventeen and then becoming the sole CEO in two thousand twenty.

In two thousand twenty-two, McCormick ran for the U.S. Senate but faced a narrow defeat in the Republican primary against Mehmet Oz.
