David Banner

Lavell William Crump, widely recognized by his stage name David Banner, was born on April 11, 1974, in Brookhaven, Mississippi. His family later relocated to Jackson, where he spent his formative years. Banner's academic journey led him to Southern University, where he earned a bachelor's degree, followed by a pursuit of a master's degree at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore.

David Banner's music career began as part of the rap duo Crooked Lettaz, but he embarked on a solo path in two thousand with the release of his debut album, Them Firewater Boyz, Vol. 1. His talent caught the attention of Universal Records, leading to the release of four significant albums: Mississippi: The Album in two thousand three, MTA2: Baptized in Dirty Water in the same year, Certified in two thousand five, and The Greatest Story Ever Told in two thousand eight.

In addition to his musical prowess, Banner is a skilled producer, having crafted tracks for notable artists such as Trick Daddy, T.I., Lil Boosie, and Lil Wayne. His versatility extends to acting, with appearances in films like Black Snake Moan, This Christmas, The Butler, and Ride Along, as well as roles in popular television series including Empire, Saints & Sinners, and The Family Business: New Orleans.

Beyond his artistic endeavors, David Banner is also recognized for his philanthropic efforts and activism, using his platform to advocate for social change and uplift his community.
