David Beasley

David Beasley, born on February twenty-six, nineteen fifty-seven, is a prominent American politician and law professor. He is best known for his impactful role as the former executive director of the United Nations World Food Programme, where he dedicated his efforts to combat global hunger.

A member of the Republican Party, Beasley served as the 113th Governor of South Carolina from nineteen ninety-five to nineteen ninety-nine. His tenure was marked by significant initiatives aimed at improving the state's economy and education system. However, he faced a challenging reelection campaign and ultimately lost to Democrat Jim Hodges.
