David Coulthard, a distinguished British former racing driver and television presenter, was born on March 27, 1971, in Kirkcudbrightshire, Scotland. He embarked on his motorsport journey at the tender age of eleven, quickly making a name for himself in karting before advancing to car racing in the British Formula Ford Championship and the Formula 3000 series. His Formula One career began in 1994 with Williams, where he succeeded the legendary Ayrton Senna.
In 1995, Coulthard celebrated his first Grand Prix victory in Portugal, marking the start of a remarkable career. He joined McLaren in 1996, where he showcased his talent by winning two races in 1997 and finishing third in the World Drivers' Championship in 1998. His most notable achievement came in 2001 when he finished as the runner-up in the Drivers' Championship, narrowly missing the title to Michael Schumacher.
Over his fifteen-season career, Coulthard secured a total of thirteen Grand Prix wins, twelve pole positions, and eighteen fastest laps, culminating in sixty-two podium finishes.
