David Frost

David Frost, born on April seventh, nineteen thirty-nine, was a prominent English television host, journalist, comedian, and writer. He gained fame during the satire boom in the United Kingdom, particularly as the host of the groundbreaking satirical program That Was the Week That Was in nineteen sixty-two. This success paved the way for his transition to American television, where he became renowned for his incisive interviews with high-profile political figures.

Among his most notable achievements were the interviews with US President Richard Nixon in nineteen seventy-seven, which later inspired a stage play and film. Frost's interviewing prowess extended to all eight British prime ministers from nineteen sixty-four until his passing in two thousand thirteen, as well as all seven American presidents in office from nineteen sixty-nine to two thousand eight.

In addition to his interview work, Frost played a significant role in the launch of the ITV station TV-am in nineteen eighty-three and was the inaugural host of the US news magazine program Inside Edition. He hosted the BBC's Sunday morning interview program Breakfast with Frost from nineteen ninety-three to two thousand five and spent two decades as the host of Through the Keyhole. His later years included hosting Frost Over the World on Al Jazeera English from two thousand six to two thousand twelve and The Frost Interview starting in two thousand twelve.

Frost's contributions to the media were recognized with prestigious awards, including the BAFTA Fellowship from the British Academy of Film and Television Arts in two thousand five and the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Emmy Awards in two thousand nine. He passed away on August thirty-first, two thousand thirteen, at the age of seventy-four while aboard the cruise ship MS Queen Elizabeth, where he was engaged as a speaker. In March two thousand fourteen, a memorial stone was unveiled in Poets' Corner of Westminster Abbey in his honor.
