David Ho, a prominent Taiwanese-American physician-scientist and virologist, has made significant strides in the field of HIV/AIDS research. His groundbreaking work in pioneering combination anti-retroviral therapy has revolutionized the treatment of HIV infection, transforming it from a once terminal illness into a manageable chronic condition.

Born in Taiwan in nineteen fifty-two, Ho immigrated to the United States in nineteen sixty-five. He pursued his education at the California Institute of Technology, where he laid the foundation for his future medical career. Following this, he earned his Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) from Harvard Medical School, further honing his clinical skills at the UCLA School of Medicine and Massachusetts General Hospital.

In addition to his research contributions, Ho serves as the founding scientific director of the Aaron Diamond AIDS Research Center. He holds the esteemed position of Clyde and Helen Wu Professor of Medicine at Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons, both of which are part of the Columbia University Irving Medical Center.
