David Luiz, born on April 22, 1987, is a distinguished Brazilian professional footballer renowned for his defensive prowess. Currently playing as a defender for Cypriot First Division club Pafos, Luiz primarily operates as a centre-back but has also showcased his versatility as a defensive midfielder. His remarkable ability to take free-kicks and his commanding presence on the pitch have earned him recognition as one of the finest defenders of his generation.
Luiz began his career at Vitoria before making a significant move to Benfica, where he spent five seasons, three of which were complete. In January 2011, he joined Chelsea, marking a pivotal moment in his career.
