David Moyes

David Moyes, born on April 25, 1963, is a distinguished Scottish football manager and former player, currently at the helm of Premier League club Everton. His managerial prowess has been recognized multiple times, earning him the League Managers Association Manager of the Year award in 2003, 2005, and 2009. In addition to his managerial roles, Moyes serves on the committee for the League Managers Association in an executive capacity.

Moyes began his playing career as a centre-back with Celtic, where he secured a championship medal. Over the years, he made over five hundred and forty league appearances, representing clubs such as Cambridge United, Bristol City, Shrewsbury Town, and Dunfermline Athletic, before concluding his playing days at Preston North End. His transition to coaching began at Preston, where he ascended to the managerial position in 1998, leading the team to the Division Two title in the 1999-2000 season and a play-off final the following year.

In 2002, Moyes took charge of Everton, guiding the club to a remarkable fourth-place finish in the league during the 2004-05 season, their best standing since 1988. Under his leadership, Everton reached the FA Cup final in 2009, marking their best performance in the tournament since their victory in 1995. Moyes's tenure at Everton lasted over eleven years, making him one of the longest-serving managers in the league.

After succeeding Sir Alex Ferguson as manager of Manchester United in June 2013, Moyes faced challenges that led to his dismissal in April 2014. He later managed Real Sociedad in Spain, Sunderland in the English league, and had two stints at West Ham United. His second term at West Ham saw the club achieve consecutive top-seven finishes and culminated in a historic victory in the 2022-23 UEFA Europa Conference League, securing the club's first major trophy in forty-three years. In 2024, Moyes departed West Ham and returned to Everton, continuing his impactful career in football.
