David Pate

David Pate, born on April 16, 1962, is a distinguished former professional tennis player from the United States. His career is marked by impressive achievements, including two singles titles and a remarkable eighteen doubles titles. Pate's dedication and skill on the court propelled him to a career-high singles ranking of World No. 18 in June 1987.

In January 1991, Pate reached the pinnacle of doubles tennis, attaining the world No. 1 ranking. His most notable triumph came in the same year when he partnered with compatriot Scott Davis to win the prestigious Australian Open doubles title. Additionally, Pate showcased his talent by reaching the doubles final at the US Open later that year, solidifying his status as a formidable competitor.

Before embarking on his professional journey, Pate honed his skills at Texas Christian University (TCU) in Fort Worth, Texas. During his collegiate career, he earned the title of All-American six times while representing the Horned Frogs, laying a strong foundation for his future in professional tennis.
