David Valadao

David Valadao, born on April fourteenth, nineteen seventy-seven, is a prominent American politician and dairy farmer. He currently serves as the U.S. representative for California's twenty-second congressional district, a position he has held since two thousand twenty-three. His district encompasses a portion of the San Joaquin Valley, a region known for its agricultural significance.

A member of the Republican Party, Valadao first entered Congress in two thousand twelve, representing California's twenty-first congressional district. After a narrow defeat in two thousand eighteen to Democrat TJ Cox, he made a successful return to Congress in two thousand twenty. Prior to his congressional career, Valadao served in the California State Assembly, representing the thirtieth district from two thousand ten to two thousand twelve.

Valadao is notable for being one of the ten Republicans who voted to impeach former President Donald Trump during his second impeachment. Among those Republicans, he was one of only two to be renominated and reelected, alongside Dan Newhouse from Washington's fourth district. In a rematch in two thousand twenty-four, Valadao defeated Democratic nominee and California assemblyman Rudy Salas to secure his position in the twenty-second congressional district.
