David Wain

David Wain, born on August first, nineteen sixty-nine, is a multifaceted American comedian, writer, actor, and director. He has made a significant mark in the film industry, co-writing and directing six feature films, including the cult classic Wet Hot American Summer, Role Models, Wanderlust, and They Came Together. His unique comedic style and storytelling ability have garnered him a dedicated following.

In addition to his film work, Wain has been instrumental in the creation and production of several television series. Notable among these are Wet Hot American Summer: Ten Years Later, Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp, Childrens Hospital, Medical Police, and Mr. Throwback. His versatility is evident as he often takes on small roles in the projects he produces or directs, showcasing his talent across various mediums.

Wain's career began with the sketch comedy troupe The State, which aired its own show on MTV from nineteen ninety-three to nineteen ninety-five. His directorial skills shone through in many of the sketches. He is also a member of the comedy trio Stella, alongside fellow State members Michael Ian Black and Michael Showalter. Together, they created the Stella shorts and the television series Stella, further solidifying their place in the comedy landscape.
