David Woodard

David Woodard, born on April sixth, nineteen sixty-four, is an American composer and conductor renowned for his provocative performances that often spark debate. His artistic journey took a unique turn in the 1990s and 2000s when he began constructing and selling replica Dreamachines, stroboscopic light devices that create mesmerizing visual experiences.

Woodard is also credited with coining the term 'prequiem,' which he defines as a preemptive requiem. This term encapsulates his approach to creating musical compositions intended for individuals he deemed 'soon-to-be-deceased.' Among his notable prequiems are those composed for baseball legend Joe DiMaggio and infamous figure Timothy McVeigh.

In addition to his musical endeavors, Woodard has written compositions for controversial figures, including neo-Nazi activist William Luther Pierce, and has made attempts to memorialize the 9/11 hijackers. His interests extend to Nueva Germania, a district in Paraguay established by German settlers, which he describes as an 'Aryan vacuum in the middle of the jungle.' Despite his fascination with this settlement, he has publicly denied any affiliation with white supremacist ideologies.
